Descomplica – Specific Target, Great Audience

Descomplica is an online learning platform specially tailored for the Brazilian community. It was founded in March 2011, by Marco Fisbhen and has gained amazing popularity among Brazilian users and investors. The Startup managed to raise more than $7M, on two occasions, helping it thrive even more and reach a 609% growth over the last year.

2012-11-20 – Seed: $60K; 2012-12-20 – Series A: $2M from 500 Startups, Valar Ventures, The Social+Capital Partnership and Valor Capital Group; 2014-02-06 – Series B: $5M from Valar Ventures, 500 Startups, Valor Capital Group and The Social+Capital Partnership.

The team at Descomplica is guided exactly by what the name represents: “Descomplicar” = “Making things easier”. They pride in offering a better understanding of the material needed in various classes, by explaining principles in a simple way, rather than using complex concepts. (And we all know how complex math or chemistry can be) The simple fact that they have grown almost 7 times as large as they were only 12 months ago must be a good indicator that they are doing something good, so we wish to see them on our RocketCompanies top 10’s as often as possible.
