Livonia, Mich. – April 12, 2004 – Quicken Loans, the largest online mortgage lender and the 21st largest retail mortgage lender in the country announced today that it has been named a “laureate” for the 2004 Computerworld Honors 21st Century Achievement Awards. The award recognizes the world’s most creative and innovative uses of information technology in all of society.

“To create a truly unique business application and then watch as it improves a variety of different business units as well as the overall customer experience is an amazing feeling,” said Todd Lunsford, chief information officer at Quicken Loans. “But to be honored by Computerworld for that effort makes it even better – it’s icing on the cake, so to speak.”

Quicken Loans was nominated in the category of Finance, insurance and real estate for creation of the company’s lead management platform. The system integrates dozens of functions including a Web services platform supporting credit report integration, automated underwriting, and marketing tools.

“We are totally committed to delivering the most unique mortgage programs and a client experience that is second to none,” said Bill Emerson, Quicken Loans’ CEO. “We know that to do that, you need a technological infrastructure and a technology team that can’t be beat. We’ve got both here at Quicken Loans.”

Quicken Loans and all other laureates attended a medal ceremony and black tie dinner event held in their honor at San Francisco’s City Hall. During the ceremony, all winners officially became part of the Computerworld Honors Global Archive on Information Technology.
