-Rock Financial/Quicken Loans and Fathead Assist Pistons with Distribution of Food and Personal Care Items to 400 Families-

Livonia, Mich. – Sept. 09, 2009 – The Pistons organization is delivering a truck load of supplies to 400 families in need thanks to money raised by the 2009 Pistons Care Telethon in support of Feed The Children (FTC). The Pistons, with help from Fathead and Rock Financial, are distributing the supplies on Saturday, September 12 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Volunteers from Fathead and Rock Financial/Quicken Loans, including Quicken Loans CEO Bill Emerson, will be joined by local youth groups to distribute 25-pound boxes of food and personal care items to pre-identified families from Childhelp Michigan. Childhelp is a national non-profit organization dedicated to helping victims of child abuse and neglect. The distribution will take place at Robbie Parker Elementary School in Clinton Township.

“We are very glad to be able to lend a helping hand to so many people as they navigate their way through this very tough economy,” Emerson said. “The team members at Quicken Loans, Rock Financial and Fathead all share my passion for community and we all find it very rewarding to be working with the Pistons and Feed the Children to support the families that work with Childhelp USA.”

Along with providing help loading supplies, Quicken Loans/Rock Financial also donated 400 backpacks which will be distributed to the children of families selected to receive support from Childhelp Michigan.

Funding for the food and supplies came from the Pistons Care Telethon, a 17-hour event that took place on March 11 at The Palace. The telethon raised more than $450,000 in pledges. This money will be used to feed more than 25,000 families in critical need in the state of Michigan. Fathead and Rock Financial supported the telethon and stocked two trucks with food and supplies for 800 families. Truck deliveries are taking place May through December 2009.

Robbie Parker Elementary School is located at 22055 Quinn, Clinton Township, MI 48035. The food distribution begins at 10 a.m. A fork lift and loading services for the event were generously donated by Ronald Gerst, owner of RSG Industrial Repairs located in Warren.
