Livonia, Mich. – June 26, 2008 – Quicken Loans, the nation’s largest online retail mortgage lender, has been ranked #2 by Computerworld Magazine on its annual list of the “100 Best Places to Work in Technology” which will appear in the July issue.

This marks the fourth year in a row Quicken Loans has placed #1 or #2 on Computerworld’s list. Quicken Loans also is ranked #2 on FORTUNE Magazine’s list of the “100 Best Companies to Work for in America.”

Now in its 15th year, the Computerworld “Best Places to Work in Technology” award is determined through an intensive review process. This includes feedback a company’s technology professionals provide via an anonymous survey asking them to evaluate the company’s culture, perks, career development, training and more.

According to the Computerworld article, Quicken Loans’ Technology team members said that despite their unique perks, which include attending Cleveland Cavaliers basketball games (the team is owned by Quicken Loans’ founder), it’s the company’s collegial atmosphere and culture of innovation that contribute most to their job satisfaction.

“This is the fourth year Computerworld has ranked Quicken Loans #1 or #2 on their list of Best Places to Work,” said CEO Bill Emerson. “What is most gratifying about this year’s #2 ranking is that it comes during a challenging time in the mortgage industry that has forced us to tighten the belt with regard to some of our nice-to-have perks, and despite that, our team members strongly believe this is a great place to work.”

“We still do a lot of fun things, like providing tickets to concerts and events, but at the core, our culture is not about those things. It’s about working together as a team. It’s about finding ways to innovate and put our creativity to good use developing new and better ways of doing things. It’s about the people who embrace challenges and turn them into opportunities,” he concluded.

“I am very proud of our exceptional Technology Team,” added Quicken Loans Chief Information Officer Frank Laura. “Our people make our company, our environment and our culture very special. I never cease to be amazed by their creativity in developing technologies and platforms that make the mortgage process faster, simpler and more convenient for our clients.”
